- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 teaspoon dill
- 1 cup milk
- salt to taste
- freshly ground pepper to taste
- Melt butter over moderate heat (do not brown).
- Add flour, whisk until well blended.
- Add milk while stirring the flour mixture vigorously.
- Stir until thickened, then stir in dill.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Season to taste.
